What is a circular economy?

A circular economy is an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life.

Why is it important?

In addition to creating new growth opportunities, a more circular economy will:

  • Reduce waste

  • Drive greater resource productivity

  • Deliver a more competitive economy

  • Position organizations to better address emerging resource security/scarcity issues in the future.

  • Help reduce the environmental impacts of our production and consumption

How to take part in the new economy?

Zero-In on Zero-Waste: By diverting post consumer waste away from landfills & re-purposing them

Consider Vintage: Purchasing used items, prevents them from ending up in the landfill

Keep It Local: Consider shopping from local producers as this gives

you the opportunity to ask questions and do research into how items are produced.

We are individuals from a diverse range of industries, backgrounds, and skillsets—committed to sharing what we know and how we know it to the wider community—with the aim of cutting back on the waste we produce in our everyday lives.

Our vision is to create a number of events for the public with the help of industry experts to cover everything from kitchen to wardrobe. Rethinking waste is the name of the game as we embark on a series of events to help you swap, upscale, mend or recycle everything—from your hairdryer to that dress you once wore on a hot summer day in 2012.
